MOD29P1D / MYD29P1D sea ice products
The MOD29P1D and MYD29P1D daytime daily level-3 sea ice products result from the selection of an observation from the multiple observations mapped to a cell of the MOD29PG (or MYD29PG) product as the observation of the day. Each daily sea ice product contains a tile of data gridded into the Lambert Azimuthal Equal Area map projection. The spatial resolution is approximately 1 km. Tiles are approximately 1200 x 1200 km in area. Six scientific data sets (SDS) along with local and global attributes compose the data product file. The Terra sea ice extent data product is validated (stage 2). Aqua sea ice data products are validated (stage 1). See the validation webpage for further details and validation definitions.
For a full description of the MOD29P1D and MYD29P1D products, see the Sea Ice Products User Guide and / or the ATBD.
